Automation ROI Calculator

Purpose: estimate annual labor savings, first-year net savings, ROI, and payback.

Formula or scoring

Annual manual hours = employees × weekly hours × working weeks. Gross savings = annual manual hours × automation percentage × hourly cost. First-year cost = setup + 12 × (software + maintenance). ROI = (gross savings − first-year cost) ÷ first-year cost × 100. Break-even divides setup cost by positive monthly net savings.

Interpretation, assumptions, and limitations

Assumes entered time, rates, reduction, and costs are representative. It does not value implementation risk, taxes, financing, or the productive use of released time.

Manual Process Cost Calculator

Purpose: normalize a repeated task into annual occurrences, hours, and labor cost.

Formula or scoring

Daily occurrences = occurrences × working days × working weeks; weekly = occurrences × working weeks; monthly = occurrences × 12. Annual labor hours = annual occurrences × minutes ÷ 60 × employees. Cost = hours × hourly labor cost.

Interpretation, assumptions, and limitations

Illustrative 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% reductions are scenarios, not predictions.

Automation Break-Even Calculator

Purpose: estimate payback and one- and three-year net benefit.

Formula or scoring

Current monthly cost = labor + other cost. Gross savings = current cost × expected reduction. Monthly net savings = gross savings − software − maintenance. Payback = setup ÷ positive monthly net savings.

Interpretation, assumptions, and limitations

WorkflowWorth-defined bands: ≤6 months short; >6–12 moderate; >12 long; no positive monthly net savings does not break even under the assumptions. These are not universal industry standards.

Automation Readiness Checker

Purpose: transparently assess whether a process is a practical candidate.

Formula or scoring

Eleven factors—repetition, frequency, input consistency, rule consistency, stability, structured data, human judgment, exceptions, applications, error sensitivity, and approvals—each receive 0, 1, or 2 points. Favorable answers receive 2; mixed answers 1; difficult conditions 0. Score = earned points ÷ 22 × 100.

Interpretation, assumptions, and limitations

WorkflowWorth-defined bands: 75–100 strong candidate; 50–74 potential candidate; 25–49 human-in-the-loop or redesign likely; 0–24 poor candidate. This is deterministic and does not use AI.

Workflow Complexity Estimator

Purpose: estimate relative implementation and maintenance difficulty.

Formula or scoring

Weights: applications 16; combined triggers/actions 16; branches 14; transformations 12; approvals 10; execution volume 6; error handling 10; API/webhook 8; unstructured/AI processing 8. Numeric contributions increase linearly to documented caps: 6 apps, 12 triggers/actions, 8 branches, 8 transformations, 5 approvals, and 10,000 monthly executions.
